Some outfits you put on and just feel great. I’ve never paired these items together before, and now that I have, I’m not sure how else I’ll wear them.  Fashion Magazine asked the style panel how to wear the trend of the button-up shirt and necklace, this is what I said. This trend can be seen all over the runways and throughout every blog, as it’s easy to wear, layer, and change up.  I challenge you, my readers and friends, to play with this look with prints and patterns.  Why not do something unexpected like mixing a leopard print and a geometric print?

Pastels and florals for summer. I just really can’t get enough of them. Don’t be afraid to mix a patterned top with a textured bottom or vice versa. This knit pencil skirt has a tone-on-tone linear pattern going horizontally around, I think it really works really well with a tank like this, that as a contrast has its graphic print placed quite randomly. Remember the rules of style and design apply to all elements of your life. Take this rule into your home decor by mixing unexpected styles like industrial and combining it with more feminine elements. Contrast, though may seem scary at times, usually works SO well.

I’m sure many other fashion lovers find it hard to choose how to spend their limited funds. Going out or the outfit that you’d wear if you went. People whose closets don’t control their life will find strange, but I know there are others just like me, so it’s important that when shopping to get items that are both versatile for the seasons but if possible in how you wear them. This is a wonderful silk skirt I picked up on sale from $350 to $60 (an Aritiza miracle), that I decided to reinvent as a dress with a simple belt,  it was the perfect outfit for a day at Toronto’s Waterfront Festival. I’ve said this before, but if you can wear an item in more than way, it’s a great way to ensure your getting the most bang for all those pretty bucks you spent.

Also, for the broke fashionista living in most cities, as it’s summer and the streets each weekend are filled with different festivals and parades. Take advantage and get exploring, I feel fortunate to live in Toronto, with so much culture and so many reasons to celebrate! Oh and I met Spock at Yonge and Dundas yesterday!
