This silk robe, an item I got from Aritzia a few seasons ago, has graced my blog every season, adding a simple element of luxe to every outfit it’s styled with. In January of 2013 it was the highlight colour of an outfit, and in February of the same year I styled it romantically with black lace and a nod to Curtis Kulig. A month ago, in April of 2014, I styled it with a head-to-toe pastel blue look for contrast to welcome the long awaiting spring weather.  When Fashion Magazine asked their style panel this week to rework one of their favourite pieces, I knew that this robe was my timeless classic that I have been able to transition season after season. Here is what I said.
Now I’m playing with a tonal look with blush and navy, plaid and pinstripes. This robe, is my favourite way to add elegance (and coverage) to an easy spring/summer look.Photography by Trevor Negin

Some outfits you put on and just feel great. I’ve never paired these items together before, and now that I have, I’m not sure how else I’ll wear them.  Fashion Magazine asked the style panel how to wear the trend of the button-up shirt and necklace, this is what I said. This trend can be seen all over the runways and throughout every blog, as it’s easy to wear, layer, and change up.  I challenge you, my readers and friends, to play with this look with prints and patterns.  Why not do something unexpected like mixing a leopard print and a geometric print?

I love when  outfits are inspired by things other than fashion. I feel like my latest plaid mini obsession is, not only because I work for Plaid Magazine, but possibly brought on by No Doubt and the insanely fabulous Gwen Stefani.

The new album is perfect, if you haven’t heard the title track, Push & Shove ft. Busy Signal and Major Lazer, you must! It will be on repeat for a while.
