As the weather gets hotter, I can’t help but await the end of June…then I realize I’m a grown woman, and my days of playing ga-ga and making friendship bracelets at summer camp are over. It’s been many years since overnight camp, and I really believe that every kid who enjoyed their experience there, miss their summers away. The camps I went to, 2 different ones in Toronto, and one magical one in California, taught me so much and I feel so grateful for the experiences I had. At camp you feel free to be who you were at an age that it isn’t always easy to do so. I always felt that this was the place where I was able to experiment with fashion the most, sharing a wardrobe with a cabin of girls.

I’ve always found myself attracted to things that remind of summer camp, friendship bracelets, like these beautiful ones by KIM&ZOZI, moccasins, and my favourite activity for arts and crafts, tie-dye.

Dress: Staring At Stars (available at Urban Outfitters) Moccasins: from a powwow in 2011

I had the privilege to vacation away in the Kawartha Lakes for a week with my boyfriend’s amazing family. We had an amazing time celebrating our summers, recent achievements and the fact we could all watch Canada go for the gold in such a beautiful part of our great country.

I am someone who loves being outdoors though I rarely get to go, and I usually am dressed inappropriately for my adventures, so packing this time I planned a little better. I packed with the intention of no photos for the blog this week. I knew if I planned to make a great outfit, they would end up being made up of my favourite pieces, and I rather keep my silks away from bug sprays and sunscreens.

I picked up this dress at Urban on sale a few weeks back, and actually love it, it was so easy to wear for a walk along the beach or  hanging around Orillia, and I imagine running around Toronto in it on the weekends
