I have many different opinions about the shade grey, and are just as confusing as the proper way to spell it; Grey (CND) vs Gray (US). But regardless of how I feel about this colour, dressing in it, monochromatically, can be a fun challenge.

I threw together this outfit from a combination of desires I’ve had. This turtleneck from Topshop is see-through—I love the chunky-knit combined with the delicate and revealing underneath crop top. I layered on top of this a plaid shirt, which makes this look seem effortless, as flannel often does.

I think it’s business casual meets sexy lumberjack-construction worker. It’s a weird look – but I like it.

Getting Inspired

Fashion, like any form of art, requires inspiration. A trip to your local museum, art gallery, or concert are great places to see culture in from a different perspective.

I took a trip to The AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) and feel in love with the love story that was Frida & Diego. Their different outlooks on Mexico’s revolutionary culture during the 1920s and 1930s and how they expressed the same emotion, differently, was truly inspiring and is the reason they are considered Mexico’s most famous artists.
