What a fantastic year! I’m overwhelmed with the love & support and so grateful for everything that has happened in 2015! I cannot wait to see what adventures Trevor, Monkey and I get into in 2016!
So much love!
Trevor and I are traditionalist. Valentine’s Day isn’t necessarily a huge deal for us, as we spend most days expressing our love and gratitude to each other. But we do like to celebrate the sentiment with Thai food.
Other than the delicious dinner we will enjoy tonight, we don’t have much planned for our long weekend. I’m still on the mend from my recent knee surgery, so there will likely be a Netflix marathon of sorts, while staying cozy and warm.
There is absolutely nothing better (and cuter) to be wearing while doing nothing, than this sick sweat suit from Toronto brand Skinny Sweats. Adrienne Butikofer, creates her line of luxury loungewear mostly with her own hands, in super-small batches. What I love most about this slow-fashion brand, is that Adrienne takes pride in the process and works with local vendors to create truly timeless products. And luckily for us, to celebrate Valentine’s Day, she’s put all of her Rose Quartz pieces on sale! She’s also shared her plans for her new collection, inspired by the Pantone colours of the year, Blue Serenity and Dusk will be added to the Rose Quartz, which has just been released for pre-sale and are perfect for spring!
So happy Valentine’s Day to everyone celebrating this special day make sure to treat your self!! I hope everyone enjoys their day off tomorrow! Stay warm!

]]>Getting ready for a wedding is one thing. It becomes a completely different story, when you’re injured. For those who don’t know, I tore my meniscus back in October (after Fashion Week, thankfully), and have been living in running shoes and oxfords for some times awaiting surgery. But when one of your best friends gets married, you know you have to still bring it.
Planning this outfit took more time than expected, as my main concern was my knee, and ensuring I could still walk by the end of the night. The dress, I knew had to be long, incase I woke up that day in pain and would need to wear my knee brace. The heel would have to be minimal which would be a first for me. And I would need to plan ahead with a pair of flats so that I could change at any point.
I found this dress, effortlessly during boxing week, at Hudson’s Bay. There were almost too many beautiful gowns to choose from, and ended up buying two. The studded straps sold me on this Halston Heritage gown though, as the bride, in my mind has always been a badass. The shoes, seemed to be more difficult because I procrastinated, and waited too long to go searching, and most places were sold out of my size. I found solid gold at Zara, with these laced-up-chunky-heels that lasted me the entire night! The coat was the easiest part, a vintage fur I found while vacation up north with family, perfect fir a cold winter night.

2016 has big promise, as my hubby and I will be moving into our new home (hopefully by the fall). I discussed with Fashion Magazine how I plan for moving and staying fashionable within a budget.

Today I’m wearing my dad’s Roots Canada Special Edition Toronto Maple Leaf Awards coat. When this amazing collection of leather goods inspired by Toronto’s great hockey team was released I knew I had to get this coat for him. I thought I’d steal it from him, to honour my first Maple Leaf game tonight (shocking I know)!

I may be more like the men in my life than I ever expected. My mother’s father (my Zadie) grew up in the Canadian coat industry, designing the house label for Eaton’s, once Canada’s largest retailer. This ad, below, features my grandfather, Bernat Goldberger with two models (and a cute pup) showcasing two of the the season’s most beautiful coats.
Now to move onto my father, who has one of the largest wardrobes I’ve ever seen, and I’ve stolen a few of his coats to feature on the blog. Like his amazing coat straight out of the 1970s ft here in Refresh Time back in 2013 or here in 2014 wearing his Roots Canada 2002 Olympic Team Canada Hockey Award Jacket, Something To Be Proud Of.
Today I’m wearing new cocoon coat, which are oversized in nature, but this one is just dreamy with the large zippers and lapels. A beauty that you know that I’ve been living in, if you follow me on instagram (@barbaraannstyleblog). My collection of coats is getting excessive, so I’ve decided to give them a review and find the ones I love. Follow along with these Coat Confessions and we’ll stay warm this winter together!

I must apologize. Since I’ve been blogging, I’ve never taken a break quiet this long.
Here’s my little story of Fall 2015. I had an amazingly busy October with World Mastercard Fashion Week and a busy week of photo shoots, in the middle of all the chaos, I injured my knee. It felt like my fashion season, was closing in front of my eyes. I was stuck for the past 2 months with my knee in a-not-so-lovely-brace, and I’ve been well-embracing the normcore / athleisure trend. With weekly physiotherapy my knee has gotten stronger, though I’m still not quiet sure I’m in so much pain.
Ok, now back to what we are here for. Fashion. This fall I’ve been living in cozy cashmere, but more specifically turtlenecks. I’ve seem to have collected quite a few stunning knits that have been perfect for this mild fall season, and not to mention, there is nothing lovelier than turtleneck hair (when your hair is left inside of your turtleneck – giving you an instant messy bob).

Before Fall even officially starts, fashionistas were celebrating what is known as Fashion Month. Traveling to market across New York and Europe from designer shows to designer after-parties, showcasing what will be hot for Spring 2016. This is a time where we can preview the trends before they are out, and how to wear them by watching our favourite street style photographers’ social media accounts—who will snap celebs, international bloggers and models fresh off the runway.
The very talented Laura Kay of @diarysketcheslk illustrated some talented and beautiful blogger in a stunning series inspired by our #NYFW (New York Fashion Week) outfits – search the tag on instagram #OSFW.
