Being a curvy woman, horizontal stripes have always been a touchy subject. Some people think that they highlight the wrong places on your body and can make you look larger. I’ve found that with picking the right stripe along with a great fitting garment can be super flattering for any body shape. Some of my favourite outfits that I’ve worn that feature horizontal stripes are 1, 2 and 3.
When I was shopping in my latest go-to boutique, Carry Maternity located in Yorkville, I stumbled upon this long sleeve maxi dress and completely fell in love with the cool tones. Once trying it on, I loved how stretchy and warm it was perfect for my growing bump and will work for post-baby too.
I’ve paired it with white boots and a wide brim hat, but plan to layer a long cozy cardigan or structured blazer on top and ankle boots for when the weather gets a bit cooler.
And Taco agrees, stripe are totally in.

As we end the month of May, temperatures are feeling like July, and I’m loving it. From the sunshine in the morning, to the warm breeze during my evening walks, these last few days have been beautiful.
A very common question I get asked each spring is about shorts and how to make them work for different settings. I most often wear my shorts, when I’m by the pool or camping up north, like I styled last summer. But today I wanted to show you how to style shorts for more fashionable affairs and settings (parties, drinks, shopping) by wearing a light weight cropped sweater, and contrasting printed shorts. I added chunky suede mules, that I’m completely obsessed with, so be prepared to see plenty of them this summer.

We are taught at a young age, that when dressing ourselves there are certain colours that go nicely together, and other that should NEVER be paired for an outfit. Today I’m breaking those silly rules, as I’m wearing the perfect cropped black tank and an amazing pair of navy linen pants. This bruise inspired colour-way, is the number one combination I’ve been told to stay away from with the rhyme, “black and blue should never been seen, unless they’re in the washing machine” always playing in my head. Ensuring that the black is a rich dark black and that the navy has blue and purple qualities will help make sure this tricky coupling will work.
This is a very old way of looking at colour and fashion. I dare you to break some rules, if not daily at least on the weekend, when your fashion choices can be a bit more liberal.

Once again, I’m overwhelmed with the past year, and so grateful for everything that has happened in 2014, and cannot wait to see what adventures Trevor, Monkey and I get into in 2015!
So much love!

Fashion Magazine asked their style panel this week about their favourite decade to wear. Since I’m a vintage lover, I found that this task was very hard, I sorted through my closet to find some of my favourite pieces, and this dress that was stolen from my mom really stood out. She purchased it during a shopping spree, on a trip to Tel Aviv back in 1977. Growing up with my mom as a nautral beauty and fashion inspiration, I then realized that my favourite items were from closet. Here is what I said to Fashion Magazine.
Some of my favourite things from my mom are:

]]>This past spring, my partner in crime, Trevor Negin and I started the using the hashtag #OnAWalkWithTheNegins, and seem to have started a trend. Using custom hashtags, to create instagram libraries of trips (#roadtrippinwithboo, #eurotrippinwithboo, #usatrippinwithboo), events (#bandtsurprisewedding), or activities (#barbaraannstyleblogjuicing) allows for new followers to explore easily the history of our travels and life.
The view from this shoot is one that we’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of in the future, as we are planning a big move come 2015, and the official opening of our new studio.

Fashion Magazine asked their style panel what they were wearing when we head up north during these beautiful summer weekends. I always tend to pack with basics that are easy to mix and match as the temperatures vary so much throughout one day. Here is what I told Fashion.

Sometimes, when it gets hot, I can’t bare to wear anything that is body hugging, yet I still have the urge to look cute. I search for these outfits that can keep me cool during the humid weather. Last week I found this dress. A steal from Joe Fresh that I can imagine wearing basically for the rest of my life.
