Once again, I’m overwhelmed with the past year, and so grateful for everything that has happened in 2014, and cannot wait to see what adventures Trevor, Monkey and I get into in 2015!
So much love!
]]>Often the season changes before the rest of us are ready, causing us to need a quick jump start to our wardrobe. As storage in my tiny midtown apt is limited, I keep 2 seasons hidden away, and find myself usually wishing I’d had my FW14 closet sooner.
When I need to quick start my wardrobe, I run to my local mall, shopping through my favourite stores in search of what’s new and fresh for this season. I need to review what I have in storage before making an major purchases. This on-trend jumpsuit, was the perfect, take-me-anywhere piece that I knew I’ll live in this season, and a perfect way to help quick start my fall wardrobe.

]]>Two years ago, I was the girl capturing the world behind the lens, but since starting Barbara Ann Style Blog, I’ve learned a few tricks to nailing a good shot. Fashion Magazine asked their style panel, how we do it? Here is what I shared about being in front of the camera. The secret I didn’t share, was my super talented secret weapon, Trevor Negin. I’m lucky enough to have fallen in love and married the Toronto-based photographer last year.

Fashion Magazine asked their style panel this week about their favourite decade to wear. Since I’m a vintage lover, I found that this task was very hard, I sorted through my closet to find some of my favourite pieces, and this dress that was stolen from my mom really stood out. She purchased it during a shopping spree, on a trip to Tel Aviv back in 1977. Growing up with my mom as a nautral beauty and fashion inspiration, I then realized that my favourite items were from closet. Here is what I said to Fashion Magazine.
Some of my favourite things from my mom are:

]]>This past spring, my partner in crime, Trevor Negin and I started the using the hashtag #OnAWalkWithTheNegins, and seem to have started a trend. Using custom hashtags, to create instagram libraries of trips (#roadtrippinwithboo, #eurotrippinwithboo, #usatrippinwithboo), events (#bandtsurprisewedding), or activities (#barbaraannstyleblogjuicing) allows for new followers to explore easily the history of our travels and life.
The view from this shoot is one that we’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of in the future, as we are planning a big move come 2015, and the official opening of our new studio.

Fashion Magazine asked their style panel this week about styling more than one statement piece. Here is what I said, including my tip on keeping the look feel balanced by ensuring no more than one item in your clothing, accessories and one beauty feature to highlight.

I think that this season’s best silhouette is the full skirt that falls at or below the knee. There is something so ladylike about this length and can be easily styled with so many different tops, everything from blouses to crop tops. This beautiful cream skirt is from Lord & Taylor’s line 424Fiftth, a beautiful collection exclusively carried in Canada at Hudson’s Bay. 424Fifth has been previewing their fall collection on Instagram over the last few weeks, and believe me, it’s going to be beautiful!
Here are two other amazing skirts, perfect for any occasion: Print Playlist, Spring Palette

This week, Fashion Magazine asked their style panel how to wear silk during the hot summer months. Silk, while it’s very breathable, also allows for sweat to leave some embarrassing pit-stains which could be problematic on hot days. But, with help from a good antiperspirant (I love this one from Dove) I spend my summers sweat-free in luxurious silks! Here is how I told Fashion to style them.
This dress is clearly one of my favourites, seen here and here in each Spring/Summer season.
Fashion Magazine asked their style panel what they were wearing when we head up north during these beautiful summer weekends. I always tend to pack with basics that are easy to mix and match as the temperatures vary so much throughout one day. Here is what I told Fashion.

Being a tourist in your own city is one of the best ways to spend a stay-cation, but wearing the appropriate shoes is key in lasting the day. This season’s running shoes encourage being active and are super on trend. The light weight materials that the new sneakers are made with make them perfect for walking in all day and exploring the city. Two pairs of runners that I’m eyeing right now are these beautiful navy Nikes, perfect for the upcoming spring-to-fall transition, and these ladylike New Balance ones that are just simply adorable.

Last Spring I wore this same dress with an amazing pair of Nike high-tops that I had borrowed from my girl Katelynn.
