Fashion Magazine asked their trusted Style Panel to discuss socks and sandals this week. Here is what I said.

I looked back to see other times I’ve rocked socks in unexpected ways. Back in February I wore a graphic pair from Joe Fresh with a statement dress from the Peter Pilotto collection at Target. I also wore a great pair of knee highs from Roots Canada that month in Winter Classic. In the fall of 2012, the style blog seemed to have taken major focus to covering up my toes, with posts about: finding the perfect dress to take you anywhere in The Perfect Dress, pastels featuring a great pair of knee high socks in Pale and Bold, all of the details, where styled delicate fishnet socks (Dots and Details), and lastly for that season, when I wore a frilly pair from Topshop in the Fall Floral post.

– Oh and I had crazy orange hair back in 2012!

Pale and Bold

A couple HUGE trends for winter are dressing in a single colour and winter pastels.

I have loved tonal outfits for a long time now, not only does it make things very simple in the morning, but it always creates a bold look. Whether it be, all white, black, red, pastels, or kelly green (which I’ve worn a few times and can be found at Joe Fresh right now) try playing with tints and shades that live in the same hue.

Pastels were big for spring and summer and are making their return for winter— hope you had the chance to stocked up at the end of season sales.

I love when  outfits are inspired by things other than fashion. I feel like my latest plaid mini obsession is, not only because I work for Plaid Magazine, but possibly brought on by No Doubt and the insanely fabulous Gwen Stefani.

The new album is perfect, if you haven’t heard the title track, Push & Shove ft. Busy Signal and Major Lazer, you must! It will be on repeat for a while.
