So the weather here in Toronto has been unbearable, making many of my outfits as I say it, “unpostable”. Though we do get those few days in-between this heatwave, where it cools down a bit and we can really show some summer style.
I am falling head over heels with polka dots and lucky for me they are huge right now! I got that great pair of pastel blue cropped pants from Topshop @ The Bay (that are now on sale), I’ve picked up a perfect polka dot blouse from Joe Fresh (Joe Mimran is clearly loving them too for fall) and this great pleated skirt, which is super flirty and yet a classic piece.

I know everyone doesn’t suffer like I do, I must have crazy sweet blood or something, but mosquitos love me, so summer nights outside, I make sure to cover up a bit. The rose gold DIY bracelet is really something I threw together while shopping in a hardware store, it’s really a simple piece of thin metal. I clearly have purchased most of the Joe Fresh SS12 collection as I’m loving the colours, prints and entire line!
(oh and it’s all on sale now! go kittens go!)
Shirt: Wilfred Tank: T. Babaton Jeans: American Eagle Shoes: Franco Sarto Belt:H&M
I picked up this amazing shirt from Aritzia a few seasons ago, and saw it hanging in the closet today and thought, this would work with those bright lime jeans I just got.
Sometimes leaving a statement piece around for an extra season or two will give us a new perspective as trends change.

I am loving printed pants, I decided to get my first pair in a snake skin, they are neutral enough to really be worn all year!

Fashion should be fun, during the summer spend some time playing with the combination of prints and patterns to find interesting couples.
Pair these wild duos with basics like browns and tans for the a great focal point.
So this is what I wore for when Plaid Magazine (where I work as the Art Director of the print issues) launched Vintage’s Night Out back in March 2012. Read all about this great shopping event here http://www.plaidmag.com/vno/ with exciting news to come soon!
