When building out your maternity wardrobe, it’s almost like building a capsule collection of essentials that can take you from baby-bump to post-baby. I felt it was most important to invest in pieces that could take you anywhere, from a business meeting, to a night out with the ladies with switching up your accessories and shoes.
It became clear during the planning stages of my wardrobe, that a “little black dress” would be a must-have, for the first time in my life. My closet is pretty full, so when most women would turn to a LBD for an easy fix for a wardrobe solution, I have always embraced colours and prints. But for my limited pregnancy collection, it was important to be practical with my purchases, ensuring that I would have the right pieces regardless of occasion.
Enter this stunning Isabella Oliver a-line dress from Carry Maternity. The fit flowed perfectly over my growing bump making it easy to wear throughout my pregnancy. I loved the subtle features, like slightly flared bell sleeves and perfect neckline. This effortless dress can be worn dressed up or paired with sneakers to take you anywhere.

There is something to be said about gloomy grey days, and the lack of need to wear sunglasses, but rather my prescription frames that I simply adore.
When I wake up to a weather report that calls for a cool and cloudy day, I get excited at the opportunity to wear my glasses, before dreading the idea of leaving my bed. I drive into and out of sunlight during my daily commute, so unless it’s going to be overcast, it usually easier for me to wear contact lenses and sunglasses.
I picked out these Ray Ban frames at ClearlyContact.ca, and I absolutely adore their flirty shape. The cat-eye styled frame looks amazing on so many different people, and has really become one of the top style for glasses. I find that being able to style different glasses allows for your to change your look so easily. Recently, I’ve been recommending to all of my friends lately to buy two different pairs of glasses, something basic and another pair that’s more bold, fun or daring.

Spring’s here and temperatures are warming up (barely). With the change of season, we need to rethink our basics. Ivania Carpio, an amazing Dutch blogger, inspires me to trash my entire closet in search for the minimal lifestyle.
Now, I know that really isn’t realistic for me, as colour and patterns rule my life, I do love the idea of the new neutrals. This season I’m loving the mushroom/nude colourway. This Soia and Kyo leather bomber has become my spring coat of choice, working perfectly with pastels as well as neutrals.

]]>Fashion Magazine asked the style panel about the winter essentials that we can’t live without. For me it’s all about these Dr. Martens. They are comfortable, cool and perfect for those icy and cold days in Toronto. (ps currently in Miami – hence the palm trees)
Here is what I said to Fashion.
