Every 2 years Canada gets together and cheers on our most talented athletes during the Olympic games. When Vancouver, British Columbia hosted them for the 2010 Winter Games, I was fortunate enough to have been there, celebrating our country with the world. There was nothing quite like having people from everywhere joining together in such a beautiful party.
This year Hudson’s Bay made a beautiful collection to support the Canadian team kicking butt during the Olympic happening in Sochi. Check out the beautiful collection here.

With Baz Luhrmann’s reinterpretation of The Great Gatsby coming this May, I am falling seriously in love with all things 1920s. Beading, tassels, and fringe were huge in this era, and it was really all about glam and movement. This is a simple fringe dress that I picked up from Urban Outfitters on sale, and it’s actually so timeless and perfect for many of the upcoming spring and summer events! Try to play up the soft beauty element with it, soft curls and a matte lip.
Have fun with the 1920s trend, can’t wait to see the film!

Making sure the contrast is exciting, and that you have an element in your outfit that give it a base, in this case it would be the black leather pumps and the moto jacket. They unite the outfit together and allow for the contrasting pieces to steal the spotlight.

]]>Capes… I never thought I’d wear one as they always odd to me, but when I came across this one by Cole Haan, I’d knew it would become a staple. Trying it on, I could immediately picture myself wearing it with a number of outfits.
Sometimes you need to step outside of your preconceived opinions on an item of clothing, just like with people, and give everything a fair chance to impress you. Cole Haan always seems to do it right and I’m not sure why I ever questioned capes.
