When Fashion Magazine asked their style panel about sweater dressing in 2014, I decided to suit-up in this sweet Topshop plaid set. Here is what I told them about layering while wearing head-to-toe knits, to keep the outfit luxe and sweat-free.

When I started blogging, my favourite trend to style was the playful pattern one that is still going strong today. Unlikely duos allow for the most interesting outfits. Since my favourite colour combo lately has been a bright red and pale blue, I tried to style within this colour-story but with contrasting patterns.
The outcome has got to be one of my favourite outfits I’ve ever worn. The strong plaid print from the overall-dress mixed with the sheer and delicate snake-skin blouse, is unexpectedly amazing.

So as this trend, of not getting dressed, lingers on, I’ve grown to love it, and I think most people have. The soft fabrics are easy to wear and insanely comfortable. They come in every form of print, pattern, colour and now with a cropped version available now part of Joe Fresh’s SS14 Runway collection, we have a perfect cut for this hot weather that is here. These pants are my absolute favourite things to through on whenever I’m feeling sleepy, and paired with a luxurious silk shirt it’s nothing but lazy luxury.

I’m not sure who is reading my fashion dreams there at Lord & Taylor’s 424Fifth, but this entire new collection is insanely perfect. This sweater…I can’t even… I was at a loss of words when I found it, which is exclusively available at Hudson’s Bay. Half leopard and half plaid – I’m not even sure how this came to be. Oh, 424Fifth, we are just getting started my friend!

I’ve always said that the best furs are those that have a story along with some meaning behind them. I’m not for buying new furs, but special pieces that carry meaning to your family are important to cherish. This fur beret belonged to my father’s mother, Reva. I just picture her wearing it during the winters to stay warm, looking beyond effortlessly chic.

Fashion Magazine asked their style panel to discuss their fashion resolution for 2014. I’m currently in Miami and so far my plan to slow down shopping and truly fall in love with items before adding them to my extensive wardrobe is working! Here is what I said.

]]>I’ve clearly been a fan of plaid for some time now, examples 1, 2, and 3, and with print-mixing being my favourite trend of 2013, I thought I’d have some fun with this pattern. When experimenting with combining different prints it is important to look at size ratios. You want to create something interesting for the eye to bounce between with contrast. So look at mixing small, medium and large sized prints.
