Winter Blues

I sometimes find winters in Canada really hard to get through. The short days, darkness, grey skies, salt stains, insane driving, and of course the cold, are just a few of the reasons why people struggle around this time of year. Mental health is so important to be discuss, and to know that you are never alone. There are so many Canadians who suffer from SAD (Seasonal affective disorder) which is a form of depression that occurs at a certain time of the year, usually in the winter.  Getting outside, doing things that make you happy, and even just wearing bright colours and bold prints can not only make you feel better, but also those around you. So wishing everyone a bright and wonderful last few days of January!

Getting Inspired

Fashion, like any form of art, requires inspiration. A trip to your local museum, art gallery, or concert are great places to see culture in from a different perspective.

I took a trip to The AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario) and feel in love with the love story that was Frida & Diego. Their different outlooks on Mexico’s revolutionary culture during the 1920s and 1930s and how they expressed the same emotion, differently, was truly inspiring and is the reason they are considered Mexico’s most famous artists.
