This week, Fashion Magazine asked their style panel how to wear silk during the hot summer months. Silk, while it’s very breathable, also allows for sweat to leave some embarrassing pit-stains which could be problematic on hot days. But, with help from a good antiperspirant (I love this one from Dove) I spend my summers sweat-free in luxurious silks! Here is how I told Fashion to style them.
This dress is clearly one of my favourites, seen here and here in each Spring/Summer season.
Since dying my hair, almost 2 years ago, bright red, with the super talented Natalie of Image Makeover located on Queen St. W in Toronto, I’ve been rethinking how the colours of my clothing interacts with my hair. With unexpected hair colours being all the rage this summer, it is important to take a second look at your wardrobe to find those items that will make your hair makeover pop.
For fire red, my favourites are light sky blue and Kelly green. Here are some examples of how my hair pops when wearing these complementing shades: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Do you have colourful hair? If so, what colours work best for you?

Having a style blog and a keen eye for fashion I’ve developed my own personal style that is consistently changing. Along with each season’s trends, I adapt them each season to suit my style, which is typically filled with bright colours, bold patterns, and unique and timeless jewellery.
When making investments into jewellery, my theory has always been to ensure that the pieces mean something to you. I grew up wearing my birthstones, pearls, and have always been attracted to pearls designed into jewellery in really unique ways. For the past 4 years I’ve been wearing this pearl and happy-face bracelet by Nektar De Stagni everyday. For me it symbolizes my past and reminds me to be grateful and stay happy.
I just added my newest personalized piece of jewellery from Jewlr. This beautiful necklace makes getting the perfect piece of personalized jewellery super easy with both real and synthetic colourful stones or Swarovksi Zirconia crystals to choose from, and everything from silver to rose gold in metal choices, and the options to personalize it more with engravings. I’ve always wanted a name necklace and am thrilled to add more typography to my collection of one-of-a-kind pieces.

Fashion Magazine asked their trusted Style Panel to discuss socks and sandals this week. Here is what I said.
I looked back to see other times I’ve rocked socks in unexpected ways. Back in February I wore a graphic pair from Joe Fresh with a statement dress from the Peter Pilotto collection at Target. I also wore a great pair of knee highs from Roots Canada that month in Winter Classic. In the fall of 2012, the style blog seemed to have taken major focus to covering up my toes, with posts about: finding the perfect dress to take you anywhere in The Perfect Dress, pastels featuring a great pair of knee high socks in Pale and Bold, all of the details, where styled delicate fishnet socks (Dots and Details), and lastly for that season, when I wore a frilly pair from Topshop in the Fall Floral post.
– Oh and I had crazy orange hair back in 2012!

It must be the weather, the reason that I’ve been in a daze for the last week or so. Toronto hasn’t felt this nice in so long, and everyone should be taking advantage of the Vitamin D. Dressing for early summer involves planning for the potential of extreme heat, with breezes and the potential dropping of temperature come sundown. I tend to gravitate towards breathable fabrics like silk, that are ideal for absorbing any sweat during the day while being light weight and easy to be worn layered under a sweater for the evening.

Pastels are essential, basically every spring, so investing in amazing pieces is a must! Fashion Magazine asked their style panel this week how to update this colour-way for Spring/Summer 2014. On the runway we saw designers show the look monochromatically, but I’ve styled my look to be a bit more wearable by pairing an amazing powder blue outfit from Topshop Canada with a petal pink robe. Here is what I said.

Fashion Magazine asked the style panel about the winter essentials that we can’t live without. For me it’s all about these Dr. Martens. They are comfortable, cool and perfect for those icy and cold days in Toronto. (ps currently in Miami – hence the palm trees)
Here is what I said to Fashion.

Fashion Magazine asked about the colour grey this week. My kitten Monkey is,without question, my favourite grey item in my life, so I’ve decided to feature her not only in the post but as a new page on the blog. When you want to see pictures of my kitten please check out her page on the top right hand corner of the site!
Fashion Magazine asked their style panel about Canada’s most essential trend—coats. This is what I said.

The Luxe Life, the blog for www.eluxe.ca asked me what my favourite summer outfit is and since the season has really been all about 1990’s trends I decided to style the next fall must have piece, the slip dress. It’s perfect for the summer too, as it helps create an effortless look that is still very chic. This is what I said.
