In grade 3 everything changed. I had gone to the eye doctor and received the news that I needed glasses.
This was the 90s and I picked out a pair of tortoise-shell, round-metal frames that I wore for the next few years. By grade 6 I was wearing contacts daily. While in school, at camp, basically anytime I left the house. I’d sleep in my contacts. Wear the same pair for months. And with this disrespect to my health as a youth, my eyes have suffered.
Last year, I made the decision to give my eyes the year off contacts and the proper care that they deserved. I got my eyes examined, and invested in new BlueReflect lenses that helped with the eye strain from starring at screens all day and night. Soon after, I noticed a difference in how my eyes felt and began embracing how frames can add so much style to an outfit. Fashion Magazine asked their style panel what our fashion resolutions were for 2015, and before picking plan, I looked back at last year’s post to see if I held on to my resolution. The plan was to fall in love with the pieces I purchased and slow down the spending and shopping. Overall, I definitely feel that I’ve invested in basics, that are timeless.
This year, I’ll be moving my dream home that I purchased this past summer with my husband, so moneys will be tied up with saving for the big move. I find that the easiest way to change up your look, quickly and inexpensively is through accessories. Here’s what I told Fashion Magazine.

We have entered the month of August, and our nights have just gotten cooler and there’s a slight breeze throughout the day chilling the air. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 7, but I wasn’t always happy about it. I grew up with a love/hate relationship, but have since embraced this nerdy-chic accessory and with help from Clearly Contacts and Coastal. So it’s a new year, and my resolutions are to … continue as is.
Well no. I have many resolutions, but in terms of fashion, other than shop the sales and vintage (which is always the mandate) I resolve to continue styling away, and creating more interesting looks to blog and share!
