Tis the season, and I guess, the age, where every weekend, there are weddings and/or babies to celebrate. It’s a great and exciting time for my family and friends, and you have to love all the time you get to spend dressing up and eating cupcakes and champagne.

I find it important to stock up on easy and effortless dresses that allow you to move and can stand the summer temperatures. Basically, if you can keep them somewhat trend-neutral and classic you’ll be able to style them differently for many future occasions, as spring now truly means Shower Season.

Some other perfect daytime party outfits are:

  1. Anything off the shoulder
  2. Pastel and floral
  3. Gingham is always a good idea
  4. A neutral body-con
  5. The sexy slip

My favourite way to change my look is through my growing collection of glasses. Clearly.ca, formally known as Clearlycontacts.ca, has become my go-to each season, for that one perfect accessory to update any outfit.

These are my newest frames, apart of their house-brand, Derek Cardigan‘s, 1960’s inspired collection named The Wonder Years.  I love the bold use of colour to help highlight the shape of the frames. I fell in love with the dipped-white colour, and the frames with the slightest hint of a cat-eye.

Florals for Spring… Groundbreaking

There are some prints that are classics for the seasons, and there really isn’t anything wrong with that. It was Miranda Priestly’s character, played by Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada, who coined the phrase that made floral in the springtime feel too obvious. But in reality it’s a natural fit, as fresh blooms seem to be everywhere and a symbol of the season. This season I’ve tried to play with the size of the floral prints, and in this case, the graphic nature makes this floral an instant classic.

After all, April showers bring May flowers!
