Mixing patterns like stripes with florals can be make for an overwhelming outfit, but truthfully it’s all about balance. Making sure the contrast is exciting, and that you have an element in your outfit that give it a base, in this case it would be the black leather pumps and the moto jacket. They unite the outfit together and allow for the contrasting pieces to steal the spotlight.

]]>Bright colours are one of the big trends right now and leading into Spring/Summer 2013. Don’t be afraid of going for a bold look by dressing in one solid colour. It is a great way to grab attention and makes for ease while getting dressed in the morning.
And yes, my hair is in pigtail buns.

I know everyone doesn’t suffer like I do, I must have crazy sweet blood or something, but mosquitos love me, so summer nights outside, I make sure to cover up a bit. The rose gold DIY bracelet is really something I threw together while shopping in a hardware store, it’s really a simple piece of thin metal. I clearly have purchased most of the Joe Fresh SS12 collection as I’m loving the colours, prints and entire line!
(oh and it’s all on sale now! go kittens go!)

Following one of the hottest trends for SS2012 with colour denim, I found these pastel green on sale at AE and matched with a rose blazer and for texture a great ruffled silk tank I picked up in Paris back in 2009.

When leaving home on the weekend early in the morning I always dress in layers,
one never knows what the day has in store, and nothing worse than wearing a great summer maxi and freezing.
Oh, and the beautiful brunette in the leopard is one of my style icons Deena Markus

So it started with a $5 Striped maxi dress I got from Old Navy. Horizontal stripes for most curvy girls isn’t the best idea, but for $5 I could make it work, and so far I have, twice. The first time in the winter that wasn’t under a faux fur vest and about 3 months ago seen above. The earrings are H&M studs I painted with American Apparel neon nail polish, inspired by Tom Binns’ colours and neck pieces.

Going edgy once in a while is a nice way to stylize a basic outfit for an evening on the town. I found this amazing chain at TopShop and bent a piece of rose gold metal into a bracelet. I paired these great metals with a shiny pair of black skinnies and a pink peep toe for contrast and we’re ready to go anywhere.
